Mobile gaming is booming right now. As such, more and more people are discovering the benefits of diving in for a gaming session on a smartphone device they use to watch television shows and update their social media statuses. Gaming on a modern-day smartphone is fun and entertaining but also convenient and more affordable for the average person.

In 2022, the general package on offer is far better than it ever has been before. Originally, mobile games were low quality and featured iconic titles like Snake that offered very little at the time in terms of sophistication. Now, though, the sheer amount of mobile games that are available for download on both iOS and Android is remarkable, from console releases to intricate puzzle titles. These products accompany other games, too, with many smartphone users sampling online casino games and an array of other options through popular social media sites like Facebook. There are certainly some more favoured games than others in the modern world, though, especially when factoring in the releases that have the highest amount of players. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the best mobile games according to the number of monthly users specific titles have.

Pokemon Go

Although Pokemon Go’s initial boom has stagnated somewhat, there is still a dedicated and loyal community of gamers behind Niantic’s innovative augmented reality release. When the game was released in 2016, the attention it received was massive. From newspaper headlines to YouTubers broadcasting their hunts on a daily basis, the game took the world by storm. Exploring the real world and hunting down Pokemon is still hugely appealing in 2022, too, although not as many people are playing the game as there used to be. For example, at its peak, the game had 232 million active users. Now, though, it has 81.2 million monthly active users.

Call of Duty: Mobile

One of the best examples of a console-quality game now thriving on mobile is Call of Duty: Mobile. A hugely popular all-action creation, the game racked up 100 million worldwide downloads in just two months of its release. At the time of writing, it’s still in demand also, with the game having 57 million monthly active users and approximately 6.5 million daily active users. If you haven’t experienced Call of Duty on a miniature handheld device yet, then you’re missing out.

Roblox

Alongside Minecraft, Roblox is another sandbox massively multiplayer online game that is thriving on smartphone devices. At the moment, the game has 210 million average active monthly players, with 21 million daily active users. For gamers, the extensive selection of things they can do in the game is mightily appealing, with players able to create whatever they want in the game’s brilliant 3D world.

PUBG Mobile

The biggest mobile game on the planet right now, PUBG Mobile’s success has been impossible to ignore. An in-demand title from the battle royale genre, it’s a game that has made another successful dive into the world of mobile gaming. As a result of this seamless transition, PUBG Mobile has 511.6 million active monthly players on average, with 42.6 million daily active players. For many mobile gamers, it’s the very best title you can session on a smartphone device.

Among Us

Favoured with groups of friends and family members in particular, Among Us is a blast to play. Tasking players with finding out who the murderer up in space is, players vote after each round in a title that offers plenty of comical value. Among Us is a great game and currently has 415.5 million monthly active players.
